Learning To Praise Your Partner

October 13th, 2009

In the beginning stages of a new relationship we normally talk about all the good qualities our partner has. The love is new and we can never say enough nice stuff about them. Often we don’t know when to shut up, driving our friends crazy with the information overload.

Wouldn’t it be great if things could remain that way? Well we all know that things change. Some good changes happen and some bag changes happen.

Let’s fast forward six months or even a year. Notice any changes? Chances are an outside observer wouldn’t even know we’re talking about the same person. What happened to all those wonder qualities we used to rant and rave about? They’ve turned into complaints; and our friends are rapidly becoming as tired of them as they did about the good things.

Disappointment happens in almost all relationships. You’ll get hurt, or you’ll hurt someone and it may even reach a point that you just want to call it quits. If you’re close to that point how about turning things around? Instead of only complaining, make it a point to talk up the good things about your partner.

Balance in life is truly important. It is important to be able to vent to someone about things and event tell them when you are mad at them, but it is also important to say good things about someone as well. Too much either way may not be healthy for the relationship and may create an imbalance for growth. The wrong balance would allow you to lose them as well.

When talking to your friends about your partner it’s important to know when to share and how much to share. Once it’s been said, it can’t be unsaid, so before you decide to share, take a moment and think about what’s really bothering you.

This helps in a couple of ways. First, it allows you to get insight before talking to your mate or anyone else. I believe it is important to trust your own voice or gut in a situation. If after the time of inward thinking you still feel confused, then it may be necessary to talk to someone.

Remember though to balance the positive and the complaints. Every side has two stories and giving the person that’s listening a balanced view of things allows them to give you informed advice. You never know, they might even be able to point out some positives that you overlooked. After all, you started dating this person for a reason right?

Conservaton of Energy

October 12th, 2009

Renewability, sustainability, and energy conservation are all over the news. Every newspaper’s front page and every television nightly news program features sustainability daily. These important issues, are not only for the health of our planet, but also for our physical health and well-being.

Our physical health depends on how we maximize our available energy resources – how we use our body’s stores of energy, how we replace and renew that energy, and how we practice conservation of our physical energy.

The interaction of all the elements of human physiology is exactly analogous to the interaction of ecosystems in the global ecology. It’s an interesting and powerful comparison.

Energy resources in our body consist of nutrients obtained from food, oxygen, and stored energy in the form of sugars (glycogen) and fats. We can gain energy by eating good food and balancing our nutritional choices from all the major food groups.1,2 We gain energy by having efficient and well-toned cardiovascular and respiratory systems. We gain energy by having strong muscles. And we gain energy by getting sufficient rest.

How we use these resources depends on instructions from the nerve system. Being able to use these resources efficiently depends on the underlying tone of our cells and tissues, which in turn depends on normal flow of information in our nerve system.

Hyperactive nerve systems and sluggish nerve systems, due to a variety of causes, create imbalances up and down the line.3 Systems perform abnormally. Your metabolism slows down or speeds up. You don’t digest your food properly. You use too many or too little resources for a given task, and the job doesn’t get done properly. Muscles get tight. Joints get stiff. You have pain. You get sick.

In these cases you’re using more energy – due to inefficient systems – than you’re taking in. You’re not sustaining your resources, you’re depleting them. Sooner or later, your entire system will begin to breakdown. You have chronic pain, you’re tired all the time, you toss and turn when you should be sleeping, and you’re irritable during the day.

Energy is not being renewed. Your body’s out of balance, physically and metaphorically.

Chiropractic treatment directly addresses these energy concerns. Chiropractic care is all about energy management and conservation of resources. Gentle chiropractic treatment focuses on restoring balance to nerve systems, muscular systems, and physical structure. Energy begins to flow to where it is needed most, chronic pain begins to resolve, and you begin to sleep more restfully. You have a greater focus and get done the things you want to get done during the day. Your relationships with family and friends are more enjoyable, and life itself becomes much more fun.

Your chiropractor, your energy conservation specialist, is an important natural resource for your well-being and your family’s well-being.

Get Rid Of Your Hemorrhoids For Good With This Natural Cure

October 11th, 2009

More than a million people suffer from hemorrhoids ever year. Hemorrhoids is an embarrassing, frustrating, extremely inconvenient, and sometimes painful experiences.

What makes them worse is that talking about hemorrhoids isn’t easy. It’s not like you can bring up your problems with having a nice bowel movement during Sunday brunch after church.

If you have hemorrhoids, then this is for you. I’ll show you one natural cure out of many that may very well end your suffering for good. It’s fast, cheap, and you can get it at your local supermarket for ten or twenty bucks. Keep reading.

Western medicine is one of the greatest inventions of humanity. It has been responsible for increasing both the quality and length of human life. Diseases and injuries that would have easily killed somebody a few hundred years ago is no problem today.

Of course, western style medicine doesn’t come without it’s drawbacks. One of these is that many times it treats only the symptoms, and not the cause. Truth be told, many times doctors don’t even know what the cause is.

And folks who’ve had the unfortunate experience with hemorrhoid surgery know this is the case. Fully fifty percent of those that undergo hemorrhoid surgery can have a relapse some time in the future. I don’t know if like these odds, but I sure don’t.

Luckily, treating the underlying cause of hemorrhoids is much easier than many think. There are plenty of easy natural cures that can virtually eliminate hemorrhoids altogether in a very short amount of time.

One of the easiest ways is to eat more fiber. Most people just don’t get enough fiber in their diet, which makes it necessary sometimes to push and strain when producing a bowel movement. This in turn, can cause the hemorrhoids.

When you take more fiber, you eliminate the need for pushing or straining during bowel movements, which can be the leading cause of hemorrhoids. With enough fiber, your bowel movements can become easy and natural.

Many people find that psyllium fiber is a great way to add fiber to your diet. Just mix a tablespoon every night with a glass of water, or juice, and within a couple of days you’ll be back in shape.

Of course, this is just one out of many natural cures that so many people have been discovering lately. When you combine just a couple of these methods, your hemorrhoids will quickly become a distant memory.

Boost your energy levels with B12 Shots

October 06th, 2009

Taking vitamin supplements is something we have all done but usually through tablets. However vitamin supplements which has gained popularity are B12 shots. They have numerous health benefits and are often used to help treat anemia, skin problems, lack of energy and to help with weight loss.

Before proceeding with B12 injections it is very important you consult your local GP. You can discuss why you feel the need to take this vitamin injection and whether it will interfere with any medical condition you have or any medication you are taking. Your first injection should be administered by your Doctor and if you feel like continuing the treatment at home the Doctor can show you how to safely do this. As you will be using a syringe it’s important you use them correctly as well as dispose of them to avoid any potential infections or passing of diseases.

Overdosing is something which I haven’t heard about when using B12 but as with any supplements it’s important to stick to the correct dosage. Seek advice from your Doctor on how much you can safely take, as taking too much or too little could potentially cause problems or have no benefit to you.

Although you can purchase vitamin b12 in pills and patch form, doing so will likely not have the same benefits as an injection does. The reason is that the pills and patches take time to absorb into the bloodstream. On the other hand a b12 shot is injected straight into your bloodstream giving you maximum benefits.

Given that most people are influenced by what celebrities use in order to stay healthy, it’s no surprise that B12 injections are being used by high profile celebs resulting in the popularity of the vitamin. Celebs with active lifestyles often need a boost of energy to perform on stage night after night and they have found B12 shots to give them a boost in energy levels.

How Self Esteem Can Be Built

October 04th, 2009

When you are young and impressionable, your self esteem is being developed as you grow and is dependent on many factors that surround you and how they affect you. How self esteem is built depends on whether the factors in your lives, from birth on, are positive or negative; and the effects of these factors can last the rest of your life. Having positive self esteem is a necessity if you want to be a success in life, and there are things you can do for yourself to make that a reality.

How society perceives us as we grow and develop is a major factor in how self esteem is built, because we rely on input from others to act as a gauge as to our popularity, our worth to that society, and how valuable we feel we are to others in that society. If we feel inadequate, for whatever reason, we have doubts about ourselves and as a result a negative self image develops and that can be a tremendous influence on how we view ourselves and how we interact with society; people with a positive self image are much more successful than those without one.

One of the major causes of negative self image we find when we study how self esteem is built, is the tremendous influence that parental interaction has. A loving, rewarding experience with your parents while maturing will produce a positive self image, but a negative experience with your parents who just did not show love, or did not feel that you were worthy of their love; will produce the opposite. There are other factors at play here as well; if you had trouble with authority figures who made you feel insignificant, or teachers who made you feel stupid; or siblings and friends you teased you to the point of tears; all these can figure in a feeling of negative self worth.

The difference between folks with a positive self image and those that have a negative self image, is that those on the positive side of the fence are very often the go getters in life, take the initiative in a lot of situations, take on responsibilities readily, and pursues his dreams; but on the flip side, the negative side, that person is quite often introverted, can’t seem to set any goals or accomplish anything meaningful in his life, and shies away from taking on any responsibilities.

It is important to understand how self esteem is built and to use that information to develop your own opinion of yourself. Be aware of how you talk; be positive—no negative talk because it affects the way you perceive yourself. You are just as good as the next person and you need to correct the negative thoughts that run through your head. Practice talking positively to yourself in the mirror and you will be amazed at how well the positive input works after a while.

Face your fears, appreciate yourself, reward yourself, and stop trying to please everyone; do something good for yourself and to impress yourself—-possibly learn something new and learn to do it well—things like that. Think of as many positive things as you can that will help you feel better about yourself and soon you will see how self esteem is built, and can continue the process throughout your life and in everything you do.

If you stay positive and keep your thinking in that vein then your life will take a turn in that direction and you will see first hand how self esteem is built. Avoid things that push your buttons and create a negative response in you, because you are what you think and you need to maintain a positive outlook in everything you do and say, and in this way—among others—- these actions will help bolster your self esteem.

Alternative And Complementary Treatments For Obesity, Diabetes, And More

September 27th, 2009

Alternative and complementary medicine are of such interest to the medical community that the National Institutes of Health has an entire agency dedicated to technical research into non-mainstream treatments. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative medicine (NCCAM) uses technical research to explore complementary and alternative treatments, including natural remedies and other practices mentioned below.

The term alternative medicine alludes to health care practices that are utilize in lieu of conventional medicine. as an example, using a special diet to treat malignancy in lieu of undergoing radiation or chemotherapy is alternative medication. Complementary medication is different from alternative medication. Complementary medication is used together with conventional medication. Using nutritional supplements for diabetes as well as mainstream medical treatment is an example of complementary medicine.

Complementary and alternative medicine includes a variety of medical systems. Eastern cultures have used traditional Chinese medication, Ayurveda, and acupuncture for centuries. Homeopathic medicine and naturopathic medicine are more recent alternative medical systems.

Mind-body medication utilizes techniques such as meditation, art, mental healing, and dance to enhance the mind’s ability to affect the functioning and healing of the body. Clinical depression may responds well to these techniques.

Nutritional supplements, herbs, and vitamins are natural remedies utilize in both complementary and alternative therapies. For illustration, research studies indicates that leaves and flowers of the hawthorn tree are safe and helpful for treating mild heart failure. Flaxseed oil is useful in treating arthritis, while ginger eases pregnancy-related queasiness and vomiting. NCCAM continues to study the effect of omega-3 fatty acids on heart disease.

Chiropractic, massage therapy, and osteopathic manipulating involve moving areas of the body to re-establish alignment, relax the body, and support healing. Energy medication uses invisible energy fields for healing. Reiki, therapeutic touch, and the use of electromagnetic fields are examples of energy medication. Reiki is a twentieth century Japanese healing art in which the practitioner places his or her hands above the body of the person being treated. Besides promoting overall health and well being, Reiki can give relief from the side effects of conventional medical treatments such as chemotherapy.

NCCAM finances studies on complementary and alternative approaches to obesity and weightloss. Obesity has reached epidemic proportions in the USA, touching kids as well as grownups. Many health problems, such as type 2 diabetes, that had formerly been seen mostly in grownups have now become common in kids and adolescents. The complexity of obesity warrants a multi-faceted line of attack to deterrent and treatment.

The NCCAM urges those who are using complementary, alternative, and natural treatments to tell their doctors. Doctors need to have knowledge about other remedies because of possible conflicts with traditional therapies. As an illustration, certain natural remedies interact with prescribe medicines and can produce unwanted sides effects.

There is yet another reason to talk about complementary and alternative treatments with physicians. Increasingly, doctors educated in traditional medicine appreciate the curative power of other approaches. Many are well-informed about complementary and alternative therapies and willing to work with patients who are interested in using natural remedies and cures as well as other non-traditional avenues of healing.
